1) قبل اسم سبق ذكره 0 ( يستخدم للمرة الثانية )

يوجد رجل في الماء 0 الرجل يسبح 0
He gave me a knife and spoon . The spoon was dirty
هو أعطاني سكين وملعقة 0 الملعقة كانت قذرة 0
I bought a pen and some paper but I left the pen in the shop
إشتريت قلم حبر وبعض الورق ولكن تركت القلم في المحل 0
2) عندما يوجد واحد فقط من هذا الإسم 00 مثل :
الأرض The earth - الشمس The sun - السماء The sky - القمر The moon
القمر يتحرك ببطء حول الأرض 0 The moon moves slowly round the earth
الشمس مشرقة 0 The sun is shining
السماء رمادية جدا 0 The sky is very grey
3) عندما نتحدث عن شيء واحد معروف 0
الشاطيء خالي الآن 0 The beach is empty now
