يعتبر موقع ايباي eBay موقع المزادات الأول على الانترنت حيث يمثل موقع ايباي دور الوسيط بين البائع والمشتري والمجال مفتوح لأي شخص لكي يعرض بضاعته للبيع أو شراء البضائع.
جلس الطالب بيري اوميديار في عطلة نهاية الاسبوع على جهاز الكمبيوتر حتى استطاع ان يبرمج برنامج للمزادات. تم إطلاق الموقع عام 1995 وكان اسمه Auction-web تم تغيره إلى ebay لاحقا بعد ان تطور الموقع. استطاع بيع أول سيارة عن طريقه عام 1996. يصل حجم اعمال الموقع اليوم 40 مليار دولار
